This is my "most wanted" list, a list of currently taken fanlistings I would gladly trade my soul for. (Theoretically, that is...) But ownening even one of these would make my year!
#1: Katara

I don't take to female leads very well, and I was skeptical about Katara when I first saw her. She seemed slighlt pissy, as if she needed a giant Midol and a few frappuccinos to calm her nerves. However, her character proved me how wrong I was.
Besides Pocohantas (<3 Keesje), Katara is and always will be my favorite animated heroine of all time. It's not her wild beauty or her heritage that makes her my favorite (although it does add to the love), but her biting wit, snark, and ever-strong demeanor. Culturally, she lived in a time when women were expected to do only two things: marry and have lots of sons. Katara thoroughly snubs these social norms to carve out her own life path, which ultimately leads her to her destiny and soulmate, Aang (these two are also a TOP 3 WISHLISTER).
Katara isn't a princess, nor does she possess any royal blood. She was born a peasant, with base caste. Through her strong will and never-flinching sense of self she managed to catapult herself to the top ranks of Waterbenders and even had a huge hand in saving the world.
Her wit is caustic, her words are biting, and her soul is unbreakable. There won't ever be a female heroine who has taken hold of my heart in such a manor. If I ever had the chance to run this fanlisting, I'd simply die.
#2: Katara and Aang

"I finally understand what the poets have written. In spring, moved to passion; in autumn only regret."
For me, shipping fandoms have come and gone. Aang and Katara's relationship is the ONLY one to leave an indelible mark on me.
What starts out as a childish crush slowly, but surely, becomes some that will never be forgotten. Aang was destined to save the world, but what if he need to be saved? And from himself? Enter Katara. Strong and passionate, even she became eclipsed by Aang's destiny.
Their relationship is one that explores many manifestations of love. The love Aang possessed for his people, the love Katara has for her long-dead mother, the physical and mental bond of lovers. Each truly is the other's immortal beloved.
Like the push and pull of the tides, Aang and Katara will always be in my heart. They will forever be my one true pairing.
